Spanning a 34-hectare campus approximately 17 kilometres from Bremen’s city centre, it offers a peaceful environment. It has a multitude of students, more than 2,000 from over 110 countries. The campus incorporates the latest architectural designs while seamlessly blending them with traditional gabled brick buildings and over 5,600 square metres of modern laboratory facilities. Students have the option to live in one of four residential colleges.

The main purpose of this university is to deliver an innovative teaching approach grounded in student-centered principles, offering learners high-quality education and the opportunity to grow personally and academically through impactful research. This dedication is reflected in high student satisfaction levels and strong performance in recent CHE rankings.

Research at the university is dynamic and far-reaching, with faculty and students making contributions across multiple fields. The university has received substantial funding from third-party sources, including the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program. These funds are used to finance different initiatives, from investigations into the history of modern Europe to robotics and artificial intelligence.
